Almorica Castle is the seat of power for the Almorica region of Valeria. The castle played a pivitol role during the battles of the Heim Conflict. When Balbatos began the Blood War against the Walister, Duke Ronwey used Almorica Castle as his base of operations. When the Walister were defeated, Duke Ronwey was kept imprisoned inside the walls of the castle and Nybeth Obdilord was made Consul to Almorica, with charge of the castle laid in his care. However, Nybeth usually left the duties of maintaning Almorica to Sir Agares, one of his knights instead. After Denam, Catiua, Vyce, and the Zenobians retook Almorica from the Galgastani, Duke Ronwey continued to use the fastness as the headquarters for the Walister Resistance. No matter on which path is taken, several critical battles during the course of Tactics Ogre take place here at Almorica.
