Ramidos Mendoza

A Walister who once served with the Walister Resistance. She was a spiritualist at the village of Vanan near the border of Almorica, contacting the dead to pass on messages to their kin. Regardless of whether her talents were genuine, Ramidos brought peace to many grieving loved ones. Her father died at an early age, and it is clear that her mother instilled in her a strong sense of compassion.

She lived in Vanan with her son's family, but all her kin were slain when the village was sacked in the early days of the war. She then joined the Walister Resistance as a spellbinder, specializing in offensive magic.

She was killed in battle when Denam arrived at Almorica Castle to free Catiua, who had been kidnapped by Xapan the Mercenary

Appearances

Ramidos makes only a single appearance, in Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Togther. In Chapter 2 Chaos, after Catiua is kidnapped by Xapan, Denam attacks Almorica Castle where she has been taken. Ramidos is guarding the castle alongside Xapan and acts as the one of the two enemy commanders. If Arycelle and Donallto are present, Ramidos will exchange words with them, chidding Donallto and the clergy of the Valerian Church for being all to eager to participate in the isles' wars, citing Balbatos and Brantyn as examples. She doesn't seem to believe in the exsistence of the gods, or at least, the Great Father Philaha himself.

Her fate is unknown in the Law path. It can be assumed she is still a member of the Resistance and quite possiby alive.

'I would rather have lived out my days in a cottage with my grandchildren. They weren't much younger than you, boy. But the war took my sons and their sons. I joined the Resistance to end this madness.

So did we all. Nor have I forgotten the suffering we have endured. If I could better the lives of the Walister through battle alone, I would fight till my last breath. When the Duke anmed me Hero of Golyat, I thought it might somehow further our cause. But the Duke uses men as a cattleman uses his kine - quick to slaughter when his hunger needs sating. How can you not recognize him for the creature he is?

'You're quick to blame the Duke, but what about yourself? What would you sacrifice to sate your ambition? How many of your companions would you send to their deaths to save your sister?'

I would never wage war for my own profit!

'Surrender and give the lie to my words! Or do you value your own life above your companions?'

I.. I didn't know. I was too quick to judge. The spirits have... told me everything. Forgive me, Denam. The Wheel finally... comes round. With luck, I'll find my sons waiting.
