A Walister who served the New Walister Alliance. Gousin wanted to fight for his people, but his poor upbringing led him to resenting nobility, and he was hesitant to join the Resistance with Duke Ronwey at the helm. He later learned that the New Walister Alliance also sought self-goverance for the Walister, and resolved to join them.

Gousin was a devout follower of the Order of Philaha, which preaches that all are equal in the eyes of the Great Father. He prayed before each battle and at dusk each day, earning him the monkier "Gousin the Devout" among his fellow soldiers.

While en route to Almorica to rally like-minded soldiers to the cause, he was killed by Denam on the Golborza Plain. It seemed he had heard a great deal of Denam's sister Catiua.

Appearances

Gousin makes only a single appearance, in Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Togther. In Chapter 2 Law, Gousin ambushes Denam upon the Golborza Plains while Denam is on the way to Phidoch Castle. He acts as the enemy commander for the stage and leads a squad of New Walister Alliance soliers. Gousin attempts to convince Catiua to leave Denam and join the New Walister Alliance. He accuses Denam of seeking for power, and currying the favor of the Duke simply for his own personal gain. He fails in his persuasion efforts though, with Catiua staunchly affirming her commitment to stick by Denam's side no matter the consequences.

His fate is unknown in the Chaos path, though it is likely that Gousin never joined the Resistance and remained a civilian over the course of the Galgastani-Walister war, since Duke Ronwey remains in power until the end of Chapter 3 in the Chaos path.

'Cause? You abandoned our cause when you drew steel on your kinsmen, traitor.'

'Listen up, boys! That one there's the Hero of Golyat! Slaughtered the people of Balmamusa like cattle, he did. All to slake his thirst for power! You going to let him and his bloodthirsty lord rule us into the grave? I didn't think so! For the Alliance!'

'You're Catiua, sister to Denam, are you not? Oh, he has forsaken you, truly! Power is the prize in his eye now. But you, you know better. You know strength can push away as well as it pulls closer. Does the Duke's army not bleed men by the day? I you have the best interests of the Walister at heart, you will leave Denam's side and service!'

Catiua: Your face is not known to me. How do you know mine?

'Oh, it matters little what I know. What matters is what we know. Your brother is a danger to his own people. And to you.'

Catiua: Why should I listen to anything you have to say?

'Because I say what you already know. In his heart, Denam has already abandoned you!'

Denam: Don't listen to him, sister! I stand, as always, by your side!

- If Response is "Who do you think you are?" -

'Ah, er, yes, well...'

'Y-you see, ma'am we seek to build a society free of the repression v-visited upon us by the ruling elite!'

'S-see, your brother, Denam, he's but a c-clinging cretin, wagging his tail for the Duke! Thinks maybe the Duke will throw him a bone... some land or a title, perhaps, eh? And you'd follow him?'
