A Galgastani who served his clan in battle. He was a close associate of Hierophant Balbatos, and one of his most trusted commanders. He also played a large role in carrying out the blood war. He openly stated his opinion that the Galgastani are superior to other peoples, and was particularly savage towards non-Galgastani on the field of battle. He slew any opponent of the current regime without mercy, and was called "Bloodletter" as a result.

Appearances

Gatialo makes a limited number of appearances in Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together. He only appears on the Law path. In Chapter 2 of the Law path, Gatialo first appears at Tynemouth Hill after the battle of the Psonji Weald. He was recovering from wounds taken during the battle when he and his band were discovered by Denam's forces. Arkhiatros Wynoa attempted to convince Commander Gatialo to retreat while they held the line, but he refused to turn his back to the enemy. It is possible for Gatialo to escape however, and if he, Denam would once again encounter the High Commander during the assault on Corianae Keep.

He is not encountered on the Chaos path and his fate is unknown. However, due to his loyalty to Balbatos, he likely was killed by Resistance forces when they stormed and captured Coritanae Keep during Chapter 2 Chaos.

Wynoa: High Commander, we'll assay to hold them here. Withdraw to Psonji.

'A Galgastani commander turn his back upon the enemy? Never!'

Wynoa: No, m'lord Gatialo. You cannot throw away your life here. Galgastan needs you alive. Return to our holdings at Coritanae, there to reform our lines.

'You are but a band of Arkhaitros. They'll crush you!'

Wynoa: We are prepared to die. We have always been so. Besides, you're in no condition to fight. You wouldn't reopen wounds so freshly so closed and ruin our work, would you?

'Than I shall taks especial care not to die.'

- If Gatialo Escapes -

'I've marked well your faces, Walister. Next time we meet, I shall mount them upon pikes that all may see!'

- If Wynoa Dies First -

'The killing of soldiers is one thing, but to slay Arkhiatros with such abandon... you reaffirm my convictions. The Walister are a plague upon this land, a blight to be burned away!'

'Hngh... base Walister r-runt... you besmirch the glory of Galgastan!'
